The Home of Modern Royal Icing
Royal icing is one of the great historic arts of British cake design.
At The Frostery, Suzanne Thorp is known for bringing this heritage craft into a modern era, combining centuries-old techniques with contemporary design.
Working from Manchester, where royal icing first flourished, Suzanne creates wedding cakes recognised for their refinement, sculptural detail and distinctive style.
Alongside a limited number of private commissions each year, Suzanne is also developing a new body of work dedicated to teaching and preserving the craft of royal icing for the next generation of cake artists.
Commissioning a Frostery Wedding Cake
Wedding cakes at The Frostery are designed and created by Suzanne Thorp, one of the leading contemporary specialists in royal icing.
Suzanne brings this historic craft into a distinctly modern expression, creating cakes defined by precision, restraint and quiet beauty. Every cake is conceived as part of the visual story of the celebration.
The studio undertakes a small number of commissions each year beginning from £2,000, tailored to the complexity and ambition of each design.
If you feel a connection to our work, we would be delighted to hear about your plans.
